Our Story

Paul & LaTonya Baker began planting their vineyard with rootstock from Sanger, CA at the corner of 126th Street North and Peoria Ave. in Skiatook, Oklahoma in 2016. A few years later, they built their Event Center. Giacomo’s Vineyard Event Center is currently focused on high-quality social gatherings such as weddings, birthday parties, anniversary parties, graduations, and much more. History of Giacomo's

Paul Baker was born on a grape farm in California and thus begins the story of this vineyard. His life was enriched in 4-H & FFA where he received an FFA National American Farmer Award.

Paul relocated from the area of Central Valley California and moved to Oklahoma in 1999. He put his energy into his family label, Giacomo’s Vineyard. Paul’s grandfather, Giacomo Amato Bonomi, was a winemaker in Del Rey, California.

In Italy, great vineyards are handed down from generation to generation. In carrying on this family tradition, Giacomo’s Vineyard is following in the steps of the generations before. Paul, along with his wife LaTonya and son Weldon are now establishing Giacomo’s Vineyard in Oklahoma. It is clear their family has inherited the passion of generations before them.

In April 2016, Paul developed an appreciation for wine and changed his academic path to become a winemaker. He planted his vineyard and hopes to become the “Pioneer” of Oklahoma’s Wine Region by helping to establish his family’s, Giacomo’s Vineyard.

As being the third generation, our highly respected, pioneering family has established the Giacomo Vineyard. This vineyard is the first to be established in Skiatook, Oklahoma. It is located just minutes north of downtown Tulsa.
